Thursday Quiz Night
Looking for a fun night out in Whakatāne? Join us every Thursday from 6pm for Trivia Quiz Night at the Mata Taproom.
Whether you’re a trivia expert or just keen for a laugh with friends, our weekly quiz night is all about good company, friendly competition and a great atmosphere. Gather a team of up to six people and put your knowledge to the test across a range of topics.
Entry is free, with prizes for the top team each week, plus a lucky spin-the-wheel winner on the night.

Open Mic Sundays
Whether you’re a seasoned performer or playing in front of an audience for the first time, our Open Mic Sundays are a welcoming space to share your music and connect with other local musicians.
Bring your guitar, your voice, your latest original song, or your favourite cover and take the stage. Not performing? Grab a seat and enjoy an afternoon of live local talent in a relaxed brewery setting.
Open Mic is held twice a month from 3pm:
